MDF

A economical wood fibre board that is manufactured by essentially getting wood pulp and sticking it together using a resign or glue. The resulting 8ft x 4ft sheets are useful for certain applications, but as it has no cosmetic appeal it needs to be covered or painted. In addition there can be issues with fasteners or hinges pulling out of the material due to the lack of grain.
